Serving With Pride – Constitution
Purpose
Serving With Pride is a not-for-profit organization that:
- Supports and affirms 2SLGBTQIA+ members in law enforcement, corrections, and criminal justice
 - Provides training and educational programs to improve awareness, inclusivity, and community relations
 - Engages in fundraising, outreach, and advocacy to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
 
Objectives
- Promote and support 2SLGBTQIA+ professionals in criminal justice fields
 - Deliver relevant training and awareness programs
 - Foster positive relationships between law enforcement and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community
 - Provide scholarships and awards recognizing outstanding contributions
 - Support community-based initiatives and charities
 
Membership
- Eligibility: Open to anyone who supports the mission of Serving With Pride
 - Categories:
 - Regular Member: Voting rights; typically 2SLGBTQIA+ members in policing, corrections, or related professions
 - Associate Member: Non-voting; allies and community supporters
 - Dues: NO ANNUAL DUES, FREE MEMBERSHIP
 
			
			Board of Directors
- Composed of elected members representing diverse regions and agencies
 - Responsible for strategic direction, governance, and oversight
 - Officers include: Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Directors-at-Large
 
Meetings
- Annual General Meeting (AGM): Held once per year to review activities, finances, and elect board members
 - Board Meetings: Conducted regularly throughout the year
 - Quorum requirements and voting procedures as outlined in the bylaws
 
Amendments
This Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds vote of members present at an AGM or special meeting, provided notice is given in advance.
Non-Profit Status
Serving With Pride operates as a non-share, not-for-profit corporation. Any surplus funds are reinvested to further the organization’s mission and programs.
